This manual examines parental substance use disorders, their impact on children, and how child welfare and related professionals can best serve and support families affected by substance use disorders. It also highlights the importance of collaboration between child protective services caseworkers and alcohol and drug abuse treatment providers in the examination, screening, assessment, and treatment of substance use disorders.
